Member Highlight: Meet Gustavo Cordoni

Member Highlight: Meet Gustavo Cordoni

The Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce is pleased to highlight Gustavo Cordoni, a Student Member who recently joined the Chamber.

Gustavo is a Law student at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUC-PR), with complementary studies in Business Law and Economics at Université Lumière Lyon 2 in France. He has participated in international arbitration competitions, including the Foreign Direct Investment Moot in London and the Willem C. Vis Moot, and was the winner of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Legal Opinion Competition. He has also published and presented articles in the fields of Business and Environmental Law.

In addition, Gustavo co-founded the first Law Junior Enterprise in Paraná, is a member of the Economic Analysis of Law Study Group (GRAED PUC PR), and participates in the PUC PR Finance League with a focus on M&A. He also completed the Competition and Economic Defense Exchange Program (PinCade 2025) of CADE in Brasília.

Beyond academia, Gustavo is active in sports as a professional diver, ultramarathon runner, and former vice-champion of Brazilian indoor climbing (under-18 category). In July 2025, he completed an ice climbing course in Bolivia, reaching the summits of Tarija (5,340 m), El Pequeño Alpamayo (5,370 m), and Huayna Potosí (6,088 m). His upcoming plans include the ascent of Aconcagua in January 2026, followed by the ambitious “Double Head” expedition to Everest (8,849 m) and Lhotse (8,516 m). Each expedition will be a strategic step toward an unprecedented achievement for Brazil, placing our flag among the highest peaks in the world.

Gustavo’s long-term goal is to become the first Brazilian to climb the 14 highest mountains in the world — a project that combines his legal and business background with his athletic pursuits. Beyond personal achievement, his journey seeks to inspire future generations by showing how discipline, preparation, and perseverance can create opportunities both in professional life and in sports.
