Gerando Falcões is one of the largest NGOs’ in Brazil that has educated over 2,000 social leaders present in 5,000 slums (favelas) in every state and major city. Their projects include physical transformation of the favelas (housing, water & sewage treatment, solar energy usage, recycling and trash collection, transportation, health care, nursery & school access), emotional and social transformation of their residents (with social workers, psychologists & mentors that set up a 2-3 year plan to leave poverty), income generation, sustainability, education, employment amongst other initiatives.
