Coffee brings people together. It is a drink so important that it is celebrated across the globe. In the United States, National Coffee Day is September 29th — and in Brazil, May 24th. International Coffee Day, established by the International Coffee Organization, is observed on October 1st.

Historically, coffee was the backbone of Brazil’s economy for over a century. The Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce started, almost 100 years ago, as meeting place for Brazilian and American traders and investors, and coffee was one of the main issues to discuss in 1927. Today, Brazil remains one of the world’s leading producers, exporters, and consumers of coffee, investing in environmental sustainability, product quality, and social responsibility in the coffee chain.

To celebrate this special and popular drink, we will hear from some of the most important stakeholders in Brazil their views on the future of the coffee industry in Brazil.

Opening remarks will be delivered by H.E. Ambassador Maria Nazareth Farani Azevêdo, Consul General of Brazil in New York.
